Mount Crosby is a semi- rural suburb located in Brisbane, Queensland, approximately 22 kilometres south-west of the Brisbane CBD. The suburb is both a mountain and an outer western locality. According to the 2011 census, Mount Crosby recorded a population of over 1,500 people.
The suburb is bounded by the Brisbane River, Lake Manchester Road, Mount Crosby Road and Swenson’s Road. The main natural features of the area are the Brisbane River, Mount Crosby and the adjoining state forest.
The first European settlers who entered the region were John Oxley and Allan Cunningham.
Mount Crosby is home to the Mount Crosby State School which caters for students from Prep to Year 6.
