About Cedar Creek

Cedar creek is suburb split between the City of Gold Coast and Logan City in Queensland. As of the 2011 census, Cedar Creek had a population of 832 people living there. The suburb is located about 41 kilometres south- southeast of Brisbane.

Jessie Daniels was the first european settler in Cedar Creek who opened a timber mill in 1864 and most of the early farmers in the area grew sugar cane.  In 1870 David Veivers established a dairy enterprise.

The Wesleyan Church was established in 1871, and the Cedar Creek hall opened in the suburb in 1913.

Educational institutions began in Cedar Creek in 1874 with the establishment of Cedar Creek State School. In 1913 the Cedar Creek State School of Arts was established by the Upper Albert Branch of the Farmers Union.

The suburbs that surround Cedar Creek include suburbs Yarrabilba, Logan Village, Tamborine, Tamborine Mountain, Luscombe, Wongawallan and Wolffdene.

The Gold Coast City Council operates a mobile library service at Cedar Creek State School fortnightly.
