Jimboomba is a growing town located in Logan City, Queensland. According to the 2016 census, Jimboomba had a population of 13,201 people. The Queensland government’s current plan is to make Jimboomba a major residential area.
The original spelling of the town was Gimboomba, named after sheep and livestock based where the major township is today. Gimboomba is a Gugingin word meaning place of loud thunder and little rain.
