Kagaru is a rural suburb established in 1997 and is located between the Scenic Rim Region and Logan City, Queensland.

The name was chosen in the 1930s by the Railways Department for the Kagaru Railway Station and is the Aboriginal work for the Blue Winged Kookaburra. The suburb was officially named Kagaru in 1997.

The suburbs that surround Kagaru include suburbs Flinders Lakes, Flagstone, Cedar Grove & Woodhill.
