About Windaroo
Windaroo is a small residential suburb located in the outer southern areas of Logan City. According to the 2016 census, Windaroo had a total population of 2,826 people living there.
Windaroo was the second sugar lease in the Albert River Region by J.S. Pinwell. The sugar lease was later run by William Warren who also had Nyea Plantation (now known as Mount Warren Park). In 1894 The Heck family took up the estate and continued to grow sugar and grazed cattle.
The are remained rural until the late 1970s when Windaroo Acres, a rural residential estate was subdivided. Lots ranged from 4,054 to 8,071 square metres and land was released in 1983.
Windaroo is home to Windaroo Lakes Golf Course located on Anna Louise Terrace. The Golf Club offers a newly refurbished restaurant, coffee shop, bar and function room.
Educational institutions began in 1992 with Windaroo State School and in 1994 with Windaroo Valley High School. The high school expanded in 1996 when a performing arts centre was opened.
Windaroo is residential in nature with most houses on small blocks and often accompanied with trees ranging in heights and sizes. It is important to do maintenance to these trees to minimise potential damage. Call Treesafe today for tree lopping and pruning services in Windaroo.
It is important to note that a council permit may be required in order to remove a tree depending on whether it is protected by a Vegetation Protection Order (VPO).
